Les pronoms d’objet direct

Direct object pronouns translate to him, her, them, and it. In French, they are always written in front of the verb as either le, la, l', or les.
These direct object pronouns can replace many nouns:
1. le, la, l’, les + an object/a thing

2. mon, ma, mes, ton, ta, tes, son, sa, ses, notre, nos, votre, vos, leur, leurs, ce, cet, cette, ces + an object/a thing

3. a person

Here are a few examples of the pronouns:

J’ai vu Paul. (I saw Paul.)
Je l’ai vu. (I saw him.)

L’artiste cherchera l’inspiration. (The artist will look for inspiration.)
L’artiste la cherchera. (The artist will look for it.)

Ils n’étudient pas les artistes. (They don't study artists.)
Ils ne les étudient pas. (They don't study them.)
